What are Medina Way Online Courses?

Medina Way courses are based on a combination of pre-recorded and live sessions covering various subjects of traditional Islamic education aimed at inspiring Muslims with practical knowledge and application  using modern means.

What kind of courses does The Medina Way offer?

Scholastic Courses:

These courses focus on covering traditional texts in totality rather than specific subjects. These courses are structured for those looking to engage in seeking to understand the works and methodology of traditional scholarship.

The Method used in this course is pre-recorded audio with live sessions. The pre-recordings provide the student with an explanation and outline of the text along with a verbal translation . Students then write  a brief outline of the pre-recording in a notebook, also writing down any questions to submit to the course instructor. This method is similar to the West African system where the student prepares his lesson on a wooden tablet. The live sessions are used to reinforce what students learn from the pre-recording and also to discuss finer details around the text as well as Q&A. Students will also have access to a virtual classroom where they receive their course material and submit questions through a Q&A forum service.

The student's general task for each lesson is:

1. Listen to the pre-recording for the first time making brief notes (without detail) covering only the essential points of the recording.

2. Listen to the pre-recording a second time, this time making side notes on the more detailed aspects of the recording.

3. General review and preparing for the live session.

Specific Courses:

These are courses that focus on a specific subject rather than a complete text. These courses are structured for those who want to gain more insight or have a specific need to gain more knowledge in a particular subject, such as a marriage course for those looking to get married or a course on prayer for those looking to strengthen their knowledge and certainty about issues related to prayer.

The Method used in this course is pre-recorded audio with live sessions and a course outline handout used for students to follow during the course. Participants will also have access to a virtual classroom where they receive their course material and submit their questions.
